Reflections For Living In Times of Covid19 - Psalm 85:6

Friday May 15, 2020

Thankfully, yes.

And in these days of world-wide Covid-19 sickness and death, shutdowns and quarantines, severe global economic crisis, and anxiety and fear and depression running rampant, how deeply reassuring it is to remember that yes! God WILL revive us again, will quicken us again, will bring fresh new life back to our souls, will restore and strengthen our hearts and minds and bodies once more.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand... and Your right hand will save me. ~Psalm 138:7

His Holy Spirit within us revives us: The Spirit gives life. ~2 Corinthians 3:6

His words in the Bible revive us: This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your word has revived me. ~Psalm 119:50

God revives us in order to be true to His name and to Himself: For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me... ~Psalm 143:11

And He revives us so that we might rejoice in Him, that we might find joy and gladness and pleasure in Him.

So let us remember today, and every day, that no matter what is happening in our world, however dark and fearsome the present and the future look to us, God promises to revive us again through His Spirit, through His Word, for His name's sake, and for our joy in Him.
