Reflections For Living In Times of Covid19 - Psalm 85:3

Reflections For Living In Times of Covid19 - Psalm 85:3

Friday May 8, 2020

Because a thrice holy God can not look into the face of unholiness without being consumed with wrath at the abhorrent evil of evil.

But God is also abundantly merciful, and so in eternal love and sheer grace He sets aside His fury and He turns away from His fierce anger.

Completely undeserving as we are, mercy triumphs as justice is served in Jesus. We, sinful human beings, ought to pay for our own iniquities; but Jesus did so in our stead, on the cross, dying in our place. God poured all His wrath over sin out on His Son 2000+ years ago on Calvary; so that today, He can withdraw all His wrath from us. So that all our unholiness is forgiven.

So that a thrice holy God can once again look into our faces and see not our sin, but the righteousness of His Son Jesus, in us.
