7 Ways To Pray For Your Heart - A Weekly Prayer Habit

7 Ways To Pray For Your Heart - A Weekly Prayer Habit

Friday, May 4 2018

Now that we have spent the past three weeks

learning about 7 WAYS TO PRAY FOR YOUR HEART,

now that we have practiced those ways

and hopefully turned them into a weekly prayer discipline for our lives,

we must remember...

We are commanded to

"pray without ceasing"

(1 Thessalonians 5:17) –

and we are encouraged

"always to pray and not lose heart"

(Luke 18:1)

So, let's get started!

For me, the week begins with Sunday, the Lord’s day. If you like, I suggest that you start this new weekly prayer habit for your heart this coming Sunday.

For your convenience, here are all 7 prayer points once more...

  • SUNDAY – DELIGHT:

Psalm 37:4 + Matthew 6:21 + Jeremiah 15:16

Whatever it takes, LORD, give me delight in You as the greatest treasure of my heart.

  • MONDAY – DESIRES:

Psalm 73:25-26 + Matthew 6:9-10

Whatever it takes, LORD, align the desires of my heart with Yours.

  • TUESDAY – DEPENDENCE:

John 15:5 + Proverbs 3:5-6

Whatever it takes, LORD, increase my awareness of my dependence on You in everything so that I will live continually by faith.

  • WEDNESDAY – DISCERNMENT:

1 Kings 3:9 + Hebrews 5:14

Whatever it takes, LORD, teach me to discern good from evil through the rigorous exercise of constant practice.

  • THURSDAY – DESPERATION:

Psalm 119:67 + Psalm 63:1

Whatever it takes, LORD, keep me desperate for You because I tend to wander when I stop feeling my need for You.

  • FRIDAY – DISCIPLINE:

Hebrews 12:6 + Hebrews 12:10-11

Whatever it takes, LORD, discipline me for my good that I may share Your holiness and bear the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

  • SATURDAY – DILIGENCE:

Ephesians 5:15-16 + Romans 12:9-12

Whatever it takes, LORD, increase my resolve to do Your will with all diligence.
